Industry Advisory Board Briefing
On the 22nd June, our Technical Director, Phil Webb, attended the ‘The Fusion Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training’ Industry Advisory Board Briefing at the University of Birmingham.
This was an interesting opportunity to learn how the UK’s newly formed Fusion Engineering CDT will address the training and research needs in the fusion energy sector. In partnership with the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the universities of Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, the Fusion Engineering CDT will prepare over 150 postgraduate students to tackle the critical challenges of fusion energy for the UK.
VBC Group is proud to have previously sponsored two PhD researchers in novel brazing alloy development at the Advanced Metallic Systems Centre for Doctoral Training (EPSRC & Research Ireland), and are keen to understand more about the Welding, Brazing and Additive Manufacturing material challenges presented by fusion technologies.
