Löt 2025

From June 24-26th, VBC Group visited Aachen, Germany, to attend Löt 2025, the 14th Annual International Brazing, High Temperature Brazing and Diffusion Bonding Conference.

Here are some key takeaways from the conference:

Session 1 (Furnace Brazing) – An interesting project presented by Toni Lorenz of Technische Universität Chemnitz, in which nickel particles were introduced into nickel brazing alloys in an attempt to adjust the melting range. This process seemed like a highly practical approach that turned out some good results.

Session 2 (Advanced Brazing Filler Alloys) – Two papers that demonstrated the development of novel brazing alloys could be adopted in the industry in upcoming years:

Multi-principal element alloy (MPEA) fillers, presented by Warren Miglietti (Ph.D) on behalf of Benjamin Schneiderman of HYSA Fillers and The Optimisation of a novel Fe-based Brazing Foil for Joining Stainless Steel, presented by Sophie V. of RWTH Aachen University. These papers demonstrated the development of novel brazing alloys that could be adopted in the industry in upcoming years.
Löt 2025 has excelled as the leading conference for brazing industry research. The quality of every paper presented was very high and each offered a fascinating glimpse into the future of our industry.

For our VBC Group representatives – Phil Webb and Kynan Perry, the tabletop exhibition provided a fantastic networking opportunity – we were thrilled to see such a great turnout and we appreciate everyone who showed interest and took the time to stop by.

We look forward to Löt 2028 and the innovations it may bring.
