In other news, Pat Rodgers, Technical Manager and Ultra Runner has completed two major races this year. The Spine Race is considered Britains Most Brutal Race as it is held in January along the 268 miles of the Pennine Way. Runners must carry about 10Kg of equipment and move almost non-stop for the duration of the race across mountains and moors. Pat finished in a time of 160 hours (6 days,16 hours), which included about 12 hours of sleep.
More recently Pat became the default joint winner of the 120 mile Ridge Challenge Ultra across Northern Ireland when he and his running mate were the only finishers of this inaugural race. The navigational difficulties posed a challenge to many runners.
Pats believes that his preparation and planning are the key elements to his success.
